Sound
Volume and fades
- Select an audio clip (or a video with sound) and open Audio in the inspector: volume, fade in, fade out and speed. Volume can be keyframed for exact changes.
- The timeline shows each clip's waveform.
Audio effects
The Effects library has an audio section: a 10-band equalizer, compressor, limiter, noise gate, high-pass filter, echo, reverb, pitch and gain. They stack like video effects and only land on audio clips.
Voice and noise
- Remove noise reduces hum and hiss under speech.
- The voice changer gives a voice another character.
- Duck others: while this clip plays, the other sound (usually the music) gets quieter, by as much as you set. Made for voice-overs.
Sounds
The Sounds tab holds 80 sounds, many of them real recordings: whooshes, hits, applause, ambience. Click to listen, drag onto an audio track.
Beats
- Select the music and choose Timeline › Beat Sync › Detect Beats (Ctrl + Alt + B).
- Cut on Every Beat, every 2nd beat, every bar or every 2 bars lays the selected clips one after another so that each cut lands on the music.
- Zoom Pulse on Every Beat or bar makes the selected clip pop a little bigger in time with the music.
- Add Markers at Bars puts a marker on each bar; Remove Detected Beats clears them.
Loudness
The export can even out the loudness to what platforms expect: −14 LUFS for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Spotify, −16 LUFS for podcasts, −23 LUFS for TV.
